Teach Us To Pray Part 3

1. Dimensions of prayer
2. The rules of engagement
3. Principles of spiritual legislature

Psalm 65:2 (KJV)
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
Dimensions of Prayer:
1. Fellowship and Growth:
Believers grow in God’s Kingdom primarily through; The ministry of prayer, the Word, fellowship and Service.
Luke 9:28-29 (KJV)
28. And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29. And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
Prayer is a vehicle that changes a believer by the opening up of his organs of interaction and pruning of the flesh.

1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV)
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1 Corinthians 14:3-4 (KJV)
3. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
Jude 1: 20 (KJV)
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
1 John 1:5 (KJV)
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
As believers, the basis of our confidence should not be solely on encounters but on the integrity of the Scripture and God’s promisestherein.
TeachUsToPrayPartThree The second dimension of prayer is:
2. Obtaining promises and making requests.

Hebrews 11:33 (KJV)
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
This entails personalizing the promises of the Scriptures and making it your experience through faith and prayers.
You make the truths of the Scripture your experience when you confess them through prayers.

Mark 11:23 (KJV)
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

James 4:1-2 (KJV)
1. From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2. Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
As a believer, when you pray, it is not primarily your desire that matters; God vets your intention and motives before granting your request.
Prayer is answered only when it is within the boundary of God’s will.
Apostle Joshua Selman
Teach Us To Pray Part Three
James 4:3 (KJV)
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
“Elohim Adonai
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done…”

Ensure your christian experience is void of selfishness; the obsession for a thing, realm or result, regardless of its effect on others.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Colossians 1:9 (KJV)
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

The Will of God represents every action inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is consistent with the character of Scriptures and causes the intent and influence of the Kingdom to be revealed; that Christ may be glorified.

MAXIMIZING DESTINY (IDENTITY, PURPOSE & MEANING) – Apostle Joshua Selman (Koinonia Abuja)

Understanding your identity is a call to a settled sense of confidence.

Let your identity be defined by what God has said about you, not any other opinion.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FIND YOUR GIFT:

1. Identify it
2. Refine it
3. Serve

FOLLOWERS OF THEM (The Advantage of Models & Patterns) – Apostle Joshua Selman (Koinonia Abuja)

PRINCIPLES OF PROFITABLE FOLLOWERSHIP

1. Profitable followership demands genuine connection and followership. Never follow an individual you cannot truly be committed and loyal to; it is a disservice to yourself.

2. Followership becomes profitable only when the learner or the follower remains a student. (Luke 6:40)

3. Profitable followership must factor in the limitations of the vessels that they follow. Never expect godlike perfection from the people you follow, you will be disappointed.

Guiding Principle for Models, References, and Pioneers:
_
All models must remain students themselves and never have an arrival mentality. The way models remain models is by continuing to be students while being models.
_
Humility is an antidote for shame and embarrassment.

THIS IS THE GENERATION: THE MAKING OF MIGHTY MEN BY Apostle Joshua Selman

What will make our generation different from other generations is not merely our prayers, fasting, or spiritual activities, it is a product of humility, alignment, and through an election of grace, that we receive delivery of the supernatural power of God from the realm of the Spirit, where it resides to the realm on earth where it is needed.

In essence, we do not pay the price Jesus Christ has already paid for us on the cross, we pay the price of alignment to receive delivery of what has been paid for.
