My hand fell from the door immediately.
Hold on…Scott?
What the…
“What the hell are you doing here??” I almost yelled at him.
His eyes seemed to have become darker as he stared at me.
“We need to talk, Danica” he answered coldly and started walking towards the house, making me more from the door.
Oh! Of course, this isn’t Nathan’s hours where he had guards all over.
This house was just a normal person’s house and wasn’t well protected.
“So, you were able to escape from the palace, right!” He snorted.
“You succeeded in killing the King”.
Huh? What is he even talking about? And how did he get the information so quick?
I stopped walking when my back hit the wall and just stood, staring at him.
“Anyways” he continued.
“I’m still very glad you survived it cause I’ve missed you”.
“Have you gone sane, Scott?” I scoffed.
“First of all, you have no right to just barge in here. So…”
He shut me up with a kiss which got my eyes widening in shock.
What the hell???
I flinched and tried to push him away but couldn’t as he was too strong for me.
What the hell does he think he’s doing??
He bit hard at my lower lip and that was the moment I had to push hard and thankfully, I succeeded.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing!” I yelled as I slapped him hard across the face.
He touched his cheek in annoyance and to my greatest surprise, pushed me down to the floor.
Whaaaat??
“Scot.” Before I could pronounce his name, he was already on top of me, pinning me and making it impossible for me to move.
“Let me go! You b@stard!” I continued yelling.
Hold on…Where are the maids?
He grabbed my shirt and ripped it apart and I screamed.
“You owe me this, Danica” he growled and made to pull down my zipper as well.
Immediately, I spotted someone rush in through the door and grabbed Scott away from me.
Oh God!
I was breathing heavily and couldn’t see everything clearly at first as my hair ruffled over my face.
But whoever it was, he was helping me take care of Scott
I heard grunts and sounds of punches and finally, I was able to get a grip of myself and sit up
Oh my! It was Prince Nathan!
He had Scott pinned to the wall as he landed punches on his face.
“Damn you, man! Let me go!” Scott grunted and tried pushing him off.
“You should be ashamed of yourself” Nathan said as he finally let go of his shirt.
And throwing a hard glare at me, he turned around and left.

“Danica!” Nathan called as he ran to me on the floor and helped me up.
“My prince..” I whimpered with my head lowered a bit, still feeling scared.
I couldn’t believe that monster almost used me.
“Come on; come on; it’s fine. Are you the only one home?” He asked and I nodded, holding the pieces of my torn shirt together to cover my chest.
“I’m… I’m so sorry. Come on; you should change this”
And with his hand wrapped around me, he started leading me towards the stairs.
I directed him to my room and getting there, he stood by the door while I took a shirt from the bedroom and went into the bathroom to change.
I came out when I was done and found the prince staring at a photograph on the wall.
Oh my! Taking a good look, he was looking quite charming.
He turned when he felt my presence and I became a nervous a little, the events of the previous night flashing into my head.
“Hey” he cooed and came closer to me.
“My prince…” I lowered my gaze. “Thank you for saving me”.
Myself, I didn’t even know which of the *saving* I was talking about.
Saving me from the palace? Or saving me from Scott?
Gosh! Well, I guess I had so many things to thank him for.
He chuckled and came closer to me.
“Don’t you think is high time you started calling me Nathan?” He asked and my eyes beamed.
Huh? Is he being serious?
He smiled and sat on the bed and when he didn’t say any other thing, I figured I had to join him. So, I sat next to him.
“Um…My prince” I called after a brief silence.
“I’m actually sorry about your father. I…”
“Don’t talk about it, Danica. You have nothing to be sorry for” he cut me off, making it so obvious he didn’t want to talk about it.
Huh? Well…
I shrugged and looked away.
Next thing I felt was a cold hand holding mine and I looked to see it was the prince.
Oh!
I swallowed hard and looked away again.
“I’ve been looking for an opportunity to talk to you, Danica” he said calmly.
“After the incidence of this morning, I…”
Oh God! I seriously didn’t want to talk about it.
“I don’t exactly know what you might be thinking, Danica. But I didn’t just want to use you. I… I know I should’ve controlled myself, but… the urge was too strong, I couldn’t stop it.
“I’m really sorry about it, Danica. And I hope you can forgive me. And…I hope you also forget about it and move on with your life”.
Huh?
My brows arched as I looked at him. What the heck is he…Is he talking about?
I stared at him – silently.
“I hope you find someone who’d cherish you and never reject you in life because you’re an awesome lady” he continued.
Okay; this was really getting out of hand. Why was he acting this way?
Slowly, I slided my hand away from his.
“Thank you for your time. And sorry for everything you had to pass through in the hands of my family. I hope you find everlasting peace after this”.
He stood up.
I could feel tears threatening to spill my eyes already. Was this a joke or he was actually being serious?
“Goodbye, Danica” he added and turned around and I found myself standing towards him.
“My Prince…” I called, trying as much as possible not to let my voice waver.
“What’re you… What’re you talking about?”
He turned and looked at me.
Oh God! How could I be so stupid?
Was I being cursed? First, it was Scott, now him? What did I ever do wrong?
“Y…You promised me” I whimpered as he stared at me.
“How could you lie to me? I should’ve known you could never be different from him. All men are liars!!!” I yelled and ran out the door in tears.
But just as I stepped out of the door, I paused, being confused at what I saw.
There was a red write up on the wall which had been done with a temporary marker.
My eyes dimmed as I looked at it.
“I LOVE YOU”.
That was boldy written on the wall.
Hold on; that wasn’t there before. Who wrote that?
Suddenly, I felt a hand wrap around my waist, a hand hold me from behind and I instantly knew it was the Prince.
What… What’s going on?
“Oh… Danica” he hushed into my ears. “permit me to say you must be dumb to think I’d just ditch you within the twinkle of an eye”.
I felt vibrations all over me as he released those words.
What is he talking about? I couldn’t understand a single thing.
He left me and I quickly turned to look at him.
Oh my God! He was having a ring with him. A glittering Diamond ring.
“I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings, Danica” he cooed. “I just needed you to be in the right emotions.
“I know…we haven’t really been together for so long, but I would want that to happen now. So, while we get acquainted with each other, I wouldn’t want us to be just friends. I’d want us to be something more”.
He paused and adjusted the ring.
“Danica Williams… Will you be my date?”
I lifted my palms to my mouth immediately, unable to contend it any longer.
Oh God! I bursted into tears.
“My Prince!!’ I gasped and threw my arms around him, gripping him tight.
Oh Goodness!
I wept on his shoulders as I gripped him tight, not wanting to let him go. I wept profusely, unable to believe it.
Oh God! This wasn’t a dream! It wasn’t a dream! It was f**King real!
“Thank you” I mumbled against his shirt, not knowing exactly why I was thanking him.
Maybe, for being different from Scott, and making me feel important.
“Thank you” I whimpered again.

EPILOGUEBitna walked out with the policeman, trying to adjust her eyes to the light in front of her.
It’s been a year already and she could hardly recognize sunlight.
Stepping outside, she exhaled deeply as the cold wind hit at her skin. Oh! She had missed this. Missed it so much. Till date, she still found it hard to believe she had been a prisoner for over a year.
“Bitna!” She heard the familiar voice and looked to see it was Kim – her mum.
She stopped walking as Kim ran to her and getting to where she was, she pulled her in a tight hug.
“Oh!! My darling’s finally free” she squealed, holding her tight to herself.
Bitna released herself to the hug. She needed it; needed some warmth.
“Oh dear. I’ve been waiting for over an hour here. Your grandma’s already making some food at home. We’ve all been anticipating your return” she beamed after the hug.
Although, she’s been paying frequent visits to Bitna while she was in jail, but that moment was exceptional.
Bitna’s eyes were a bit cold. But she finally managed to brighten them up a bit.
“Can we just go home already?” She asked, her tone unusually soft.
Kim smiled at it.
“Of course. Come on” she held her hand and walked towards the road with her.

“Nathan….
“Oh my God….
Please…!”
Danica moaned helplessly as Nathan pounded earnestly into her.
He was grunting into her ears while her hands were wrapped around him.
“Oh… stop it, Nathan.
“Ah!!”
Finally, he drilled to his satisfaction and pulled out of her, falling beside her on the bed.
“Oh! Damn it” he grunted, the pleasure still driving him wild.
Danica panted heavily as Nathan lifted his hand to her waist
Damn it! She couldn’t believe he almost killed her. Like… what the hell?
“Sweet as always” he smiled and planted a kiss on her tummy, but she didn’t respond.
They stayed quiet for a while and finally, she made to leave the bed.
“Hey; hey; where are you going?” He asked, holding her back by the waist.
“I need to clean up and go out. I need to go see granny” she answered, biting her lower lip.
“Oh! Seriously, Danica. You’d prefer that old woman to your husband?” He asked and she hit him slightly on the chest.
“First of all, granny isn’t old. Secondly, you’re still my fiance, not my husband. Besides, your people are waiting for their King. So,let me go” she rolled her eyes and forced herself out of bed.
“Whatever!” He yelled as she ran into the bathroom.
She giggled as she got in and turned on the shower
“Hmm” she moaned, closing her eyes.
She enjoyed it; the cold water running down on her.
She smiled and licked her lips.
Oh Christ! It’s been one year already, yet seemed like a century to her.
Everything seemed to had gone smoothly since the death of the Last King. Well, smoothly just for her,but she wouldn’t say so about the royal family.
The royal family has been more like a mess;
Prince Duri was discovered to be hiding his traitorous mother, and as a result, he was out of the line in the selection of a new King.
Prince Eric was in coma for so many months and couldn’t be chosen either.
Prince Jimin was nowhere to be found.
So… Nathan was the last prince remaining and he had to claim the throne.
And in a few weeks from then, Danica would be getting married to the King.
It’s been such a rough life for her; to think of the fact that one year ago, she was a nobody. One year ago, she struggled for survival and suffered hatred from a woman she thought was her mother.
One year ago, she was almost killed because she was a God-forsaken disciple.
Ah!! A lot had happened in just a space of one year.
But nevertheless, she was happy because it ended well for her.

” I know, Diana but… This is a feeling, and I trust my instincts on this. Alpha Derek will win this war but… something will come after it. “

It took five days before the battle was over. And after that day, Derek went missing. For years… Nine year, he was nowhere to be found.
The battle went well with alpha Derek winning as May had foretold. He conquered the White Wolf Pack, now claiming it to be his.
But who will be their new leader when their new alpha has gone missing??
Who will be there to protect the two packs from any future intruders??
Although Diana tried to believe that he was dead, but her heart keeps telling her that he isn’t.
And even as Lucas has grown enough to take over the throne, Diana still refuses to crown him as the next Alpha.
She knew he was gonna come back, she knew Derek will one day come back to claim what rightfully belongs to him… and he did.
But… that was on the same day Diviana and Lucas turned twenty.

“Dearly Beloved,” the elder began, ” we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Alpha Derek and Lady Diana in matrimony commended to be honorable among all; and therefore is not to be entered into lightly but reverently, passionately, lovingly and solemnly. Into this – these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together – let them speak now or forever hold their peace. “
He continued, “Friends, we have joined here today to share with Alpha Derek and Lady Diana an important moment in their lives. Their time together, they have seen their love and understanding of each other grow and blossom and now they have decided to live out the rest of their lives as one.”
“Do you Alpha Derek, take Diana, to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you two part.”

At the final declaration, the elder said. “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you alpha Derek and Lady Diana husband and wife. You may now kiss each other. “
He ended with, ” I present to you the newly married couple
Everyone stood up with an applaud as the couple lead out.
After the matrimony was over, Diana’s eyes went all over in search for her parents. Even with the now over grown bumb, she walked up and down. Now that she has seen them, she ran to give them a warm hug.
Derek had ordered some people to stop her but, she didn’t listen but kept running. Mrs Craig, her mother held her mouth in fear, but did that seem to bother Diana?
No…
She ran to them, throwing herself in their embrace. ” Diana, you will hurt the baby. ” Her mother gave her a look.
” Mom, don’t worry, the baby is fine. “
” Well, that isn’t an excuse to me. If you wanna die, then not my grandchild. “
” Mom, you don’t care about me anymore? “
” I do, but it seems like you don’t care about yourself. Come here, give me another hug. ” She chuckled, pulling Diana to herself.
” Dad, how have you two been all this days. “
” We’ve been doing great. Though, your mother keeps mourning you until Kent told us you were alive with the wolves. “
” Mom… ” She stressed the word. ” Do you wanna kill yourself? “
” What do you expect? I thought I had lost my only child and daughter. I have to, it’s not like I loved what I was doing. You know what, whatever. It’s your day, let us jubilate it. “
” Why don’t we sit at the high table. I know my husband will be expecting us. “

“ DIVIANA… LUCAS… ”
( Seven Months Later )
“Call me my mother! Call me my mother! ” She cried in pains.
“But, my lady. You… ”
” I said, call me my mother!” She yelled at the nurse who did that Immediately.
Not quite long, her mother walked in straight to her side.
” Hold me tight, don’t let me go.” She said in pains and tears.
” I will never leave you my love. I’m here for you, okay? ” She assured her.
She nodded continuously while the nurse asked her for a push.
She screamed, her grip tight on her mother’s hand. She kept gasping for air.
The nurse ordered for another push which she did. Again and again, this she went on until something like a head was seen.
“I see it. I see it. One more push my lady.”
“Ahhhhh!!!”
There came the cry of a baby filling the air.
“What do we have?” One of the nurse asked.
“It’s a girl!”
Diana stared at her mother who offered her an assuring look that everything was gonna be okay.
Soon, Diana felt pains in her stomach like something was kicking her.
“There’s another!” A nurse informed. “There’s one more.”
Diana looked at her mother weakly, she wasn’t sure if she could endure it this time. She needed to rest, but the being in her wants to leave.
” Kiara, I thought you said it was only a she! ” She echoed not minding the people around her.
” Sorry, I forgot to mention there was a he too. “
” Oh my God, I don’t think I can hold this anymore. Mother… ” She pressed her hand tight.
Mrs Craig rubbed her palms softly, tears dropping out of her eyes. She can’t do this, she needed some rest.
“Okay. You need to push hard, my lady. Push!”
She held her teeths firmly together. Her body stiffened in each push. It was time for the last push, she gathered her strength, her eyes turned purple.
” Diana, this is the last… you’ve got to push. ” Kiara whispered in her head.
” I’m trying, Kia. I’m trying, okay. “
The other her was ready, Kiara has to help her.
She gave the hard push…
She breathed heavily.
“What do we have?” A nurse asked.
“It’s a boy! ” Replied the other.
“I wanna touch my babies.” She said dully and they brought the two infants to her side.
They laid them beside her. She couldn’t stop from staring at this creatures, they were beautiful, they were gorgeous.
“Do you want to feel them?” She asked.
She nodded her head. ” Yes, yes. Oh my… goodness. ” She held them both in her arms, humming one of those lullabies she always sang for Diana when she was little.
” Aren’t they beautiful?”
She nodded.
Derek entered, looking astonished at his two little kids on Diana’s arms. ” Come, Derek, look what we have. ” Mrs Craig said,
He came closer, He took his male child into his arms, holding him tight from falling. He loved babies, but he has never taken one into his arms so he fears he might hurt his child.
For the first time, a tear fell from his eyes. He has never thought of being a father. Now he is, what kind of father will he become?
“He’s beautiful. They both are so beautiful. My bloods, my futures. “

Diviana ✓
” DIVIANA! ” I heard mom called but I paid deaf ears to her, running down the hallway. ” Diviana, I said, get back here, will you?! “
I stopped, stamping my feet angrily to the ground while I heard her approach me. ” Mom… “
” Don’t you ever mom me, okay? I said get back to your room and stay with your brother. ” She pointed towards the direction of my room.
” But mother, Lucas can take care of himself. Besides, I just wanna play. “
” You just wanna play, ” I notice her eyes look on my legs. ” And you aren’t putting on your shoes? Divia… “
” But this is not outside the castle… “
” Can you stop exchanging words with me and do as I said? To your room, now! ” She pointed.
” But mother… ” I tried to say.
” I said, don’t mother me… “
” Diana, take it easy. ” Cax said, touching her shoulder.
” Take it easy? Did you even listen to her? No, she is going into her room. And woman, what are you still waiting for? ” She said, throwing me a hard gaze.
” Fine, I’m going.. ” I scoffed, murmuring to myself as I headed back to my room.
” Hey Divia… ” Lucas tried to say but I cut him short.
” Shut up. ” I banged the door close.
Diana ✓
” You have to take it easy on her, besides she’s still a kid. “
” No, she’s stubborn. ” I corrected.
” That trait didn’t just come from nowhere, she must had gotten that from her mother. “
I eyed her, ” That was years ago. “
” Traits doesn’t give a damn how long it was or has been. It flows, and I think you just passed that down to her. ” She chuckled.
” No, I was stubborn, but not as stubborn as she is. ” We started to my room.
” I bet yours was worst. Cos if I can remember, yours resulted to you getting bitten. “
” Oh, maybe I must have forgotten. “
” Thank God I reminded you. “

The morning has surfaced, we were both awake sitting on the bed. Derek was busy with his laptop, while I sat busy with nothing. I was still contemplating if I should tell him about Kiara’s discussion with me or if I rather keep it to myself.
I don’t even know how to start it but… I really need to have this discussed with him now. I sighed.
” Derek, ” I called him.
” Mm-hmm. “
” Can we talk about something? “
” Right now? ” He asked, his eyes still on his laptop.
” Yeah, right now. “
He stopped what he was doing, shutting his laptop close. He adjusted himself, that we were sitting face to face.
” Okay, I’m listening. “
” I uhmm… ” I started with a pause. ” You know, I was wondering, we haven’t gotten married yet and, I’m almost… so close to giving birth. So, I was thinking if we might discuss about our union. What do you think? ” I don’t even know what I’m saying.
” I thought about that so, I decided on hosting our marriage next week. But I didn’t wanna push it too forward without getting your opinion first. And you know, I didn’t wanna talk about it in your condition. “
I sighed. ” It doesn’t matter if we have to get married with me being pregnant. It’s much better if I may say. “
” You’re scared people might take me away from you? “
” No… I.. I mean of course not. ” But the look was just too obvious to tell, leaving him to laugh at me. I found myself laughing too.
By the way, why would I be scared?
Everyone of course knows we are mated already. Or, am I being too concerned because of guests yet to come for the wedding. You know, those pretty ladies who thinks they are better than everyone in the world.
Gosh… I guess I’m overthinking right now.
” Yeah, I’m scared, a little tho. ” I confessed.
” It’s okay to be scared. But you’ve got to believe this, I’m never leaving you for anyone. Not after what we’ve started together. “
I nodded in relief.
” You wanna talk about anything else? ” He asked again.
Hold on… Did he just…
” You just read my mind, didn’t you?” I pointed at him.
” It was too much. I mean, your thoughts are too much and they are bothering me. “
” I’m sorry, I… Maybe I won’t ask again. “
” No, go ahead. “
I exhaled, rubbing my palms. ” Last night, I thought about this but, I don’t think you might approve it. Can you just read my mind, please? “
” Diana you know I can’t do that. It’s your privacy, I don’t wanna invade it. If you’re being too shy to tell me, maybe you can anytime. “
” No, I want to have it discussed now. I… Okay, it’s about my parents. I was thinking maybe you can permit them to attend the ceremony. I just wanna see them, even if it’s for the last time. “
He smiled. ” Don’t worry about them, I already sent them an invitation. “
I chuckled, scoffing. Gosh, I’m damn surprised. ” Oh my goodness, Derek, you’re full of surprises. Thank you so so much, I love You. I love you. ” I threw myself on him, causing him to rest on the bed.
” I’m grateful for what you did, Derek. You definitely don’t know how happy I am. “
” Whatever makes you happy, makes me happy too. “
This time, it was I who pressed my lips on his, kissing him passionately.

” Damn it, kiara you’re hurting me. ” I grunted at the hot pains in my belly.
” Sorry, she’s too stubborn just like you. I’m trying to calm her down but she’s too… “
” Ahhh…” I cut her shirt with my yell. ” Kiara for damn sake make her stop!! ” I yelled.
” I’m trying. I think… “
” You think what? “
” I think she wants to pull out. “
” Pull out? ” I repeated. ” Pull out where?! What’s that supposed to mean? “
” I don’t know. I think she wants to leave your womb.”
” Then make her know it not the damn time yet. I’m … Oh my God, I feel like passing out. Kiara!! “
” For God sake, Diana, I’m trying!. “
” Then keep trying!! ” I held the lower part of my stomach, pushing myself to lay on the bed. ” This is the most painful moment of… my… life. ” I said in clenched teeth. ” Whew…” I breathed, in and out.
I did that again and again as if that would help. And indeed it did. ” Kiara, ” I called with a warning tune. ” Don’t you ever, ever again play with her. Understood?! “
” Yes, boss. “
I exhaled heavily, resting my back on the bed. ” Whew… “

That night, I sat happily at the varenda. I always go there each time I wanted to be alone. I wanted to think, to be outside the universe.
I never expected Derek to have done what he did. Every other alpha will try to show how angry they were when humans are being mentioned, humans different from their mates.
But Derek just proved how different he was to other alpha’s. First, he respects my privacy. He never reads through my mind without my permission. And now, he just approved the idea of letting my parents attend our marriage.
Did I just said approved? He has already send an invitation letter to them??
Good God, I’m so fucking excited right now. Finally, I was gonna see my parents once again!
