He held my hand for so long,I got confused as he stared down at my hand,he was taking long and am scared a guard would see us together.
I cleared my throat and he suddenly left my hand like someone who just got himself.

“sir you really need to go,no one must see us together” I said with nervousness in my voice.
“I told you not to act nervous, it doesn’t suit you” he said..
I stayed quiet,guess he doesn’t understand yet that am use to emotions,I already accept it as my destiny.
“sir you really need to go”,
I said in fear.He turned and took few steps..
“did you eat?”, he asked.I scratched my neck.
“thanks,have eaten”, I lied.
How can I get comfortable with food in this condition? have not even know what the king would say to me.

I stood on my toes to see if Lotanna would come to the stairs balcony, he did not. Not even a glimpse. I started feeling bad;was I high?

i still waited in the golden hall for him, his mother said he is going to escort me,why is he taking long?.
“where’s Lotanna?”, I called a maid and asked.
“in his room” she replied.
“his he fine?”, I asked,the maid made a puzzled look.
“ma’am didn’t you feasted together not quite long?”,she questioned.
I could not reply her because the queen was approaching us,the maid bowed in respect and left.
“ma’am, I didn’t see Lotanna”, I said in my most caring voice.She smiled.
“let’s go, he will meet you outside” she said.
I blushed as I followed her out quietly.Their mother is kind,am aware she wants me for one of the princes and am interested in Lotanna he has everything I dream of, should I talk about his investment….
wealth is not his problem and besides,he is so soft in looks plus I will gain popularity both here and abroad in being with him.
“my queen,can I always come here anytime I want?”, I asked.
“why not,you’re free” she replied..
we got outside,no one was there..
just my servants.
“he will soon join” the queen said and left with a reassuring smile.
I started thinking it will rain,
the weather was somehow.
Soon,little droplet of water starts dropping from the atmosphere. Hope I won’t get drenched waiting for Lotanna.
My servants put on the royal coverage so I won’t get wet.
“they are here” Sharon whispered.
I turned back,it was the twins.
standing together was the most perfect view have ever seen.

“we are escorting you as mother ordered” one of them said.

He joined me in the royal coverage that serves as an umbrella, Lotanna didn’t even spare me a glance,he was quiet as he walked on a separate side with his hands tucked into his pocket…. I would have suggested car but I purposely choose walking so that I can start a friendly conversation.
“between the village,abroad and Banana island,where do you prefer?”,
I asked..none of the twins answered.

“isn’t it time for us to turn back” Lotanna said.His voice literally melt my heart.
I stylishly look sideways to see him well,he looked so bothered as he got engrossed with whatever thing he was listening to from his headphone.
why was he thinking of turning back? he doesn’t like the idea of escorting me,I could see it that he was forced.
anyways…..he look pretty and expensive, he really like being alone.
he walked and breathed out at the same time,the wetness caused by the rain made his physique look clean,sweet and seductive.
he look so cold…yes,this weather is really cold.
He moved his hair back and acted like he couldn’t see well..
The distance between us was wide,I still watch him quietly as he dripped of water.
he look sideways as well,our eyes locked.I got myself,it wasn’t me he was staring at,it was his brother.
next,he turned.
“we have escorted you enough” Jidenna said.
“bye” I said as I watch them leave.
Jidenna hasten his footstep as the rain got heavy but Lotanna still catwalk…isn’t he cold?
funny enough,he was operating phone in the rain.
Aaaah,it must be waterproof.
“ma’am Akuna,I think I should turn back since my masters have turned” a maid said.She’s actually a maid from the palace.
“you can go, make sure Lotanna is okay” I said.
she nodded and ran.

the rain affected me so much,the place I was locked in has no coverage at all,I knew the guards did it intentionally.
In no time,I got extremely wet and was shivering with cold.Not like I have someone to cry to..
I hope Nkem help me out of here.

I got happy immediately I heard sounds if the main gate opening.

I was anticipating to see if someone was coming as I widened my eyes well.It was Lotanna walking so slow in the rain.
he really love water.
I turned my face to the other side,he said we shouldn’t see nor meet again.how pathetic?.
I took a deep breath, by the time I looked front,he wasn’t there anymore.
what I saw was two guards passing by.
I sat back and start dozing off in the rain,suddenly I heard the gate open.
“what are you doing? dozing off in the rain-you’re unbelievable”the guard that had lock me in said.
He opened the metals widely and told me to come out,I did and followed him.
He took me to another place,a place rain won’t touch me.
I got extremely happy.
“thank you” I said.
“thank the person that sent me,not me”, he said and walk away.
I should thank the person that sent me…….who can it be?..
I slept comfortably in the new place..

I got up early and waited patiently, a guard came to me when it was time for the king to see me.
I got nervous as I enter the throne room, I hastily bowed with my face covered.
He said I should explain what happed,I explained the truth and showed him the marks on my skin, thank goodness the marks were fresh.
“she said she was correcting you, you don’t want to listen,was that why you pushed her? what if she is dead!
he said, I stayed quiet.
No one believes me,only Ngozi believes me.
The king spoke to me for like three hours….
“you’re a female,learn to be useful person to your society…I will also talk to onome to stop beating you, your skin is something else” he said, after which he gave me punishment.
my punishment was to join the rest if the maids for ten days.
I nodded and bowed in respect before leaving to start my work.
“this is Dumebi,your work partner”
the head maid said.
I followed dumebi to the maids quarter where i bath.
“lovely shape but your face is something else” dumebi said as she drop cloth for me.I dressed up..and felt so much better.
We both took brooms,the first thing was sweeping the yard.
All the maids avoided me as we work.Soon,they all left leaving only me to sweep.
It was only dumebi that stayed,though she didn’t speak to me.She minded her business.

“move there so that we can sweep faster” she said,I did as she said.
We swept the wide arena so clean and neatly.Dumebi left to get a dust pan,I took the watery can and decided to get water ready for the flowers. I met dumebi,she collected the can from me and handed me the dust pan..
“pack it faster so that we can eat breakfast” she said.
I hurried back…
“prince Lotanna,the pool is about to be cleaned” I heard a guard saying.
hmmm did I just hear Lotanna…
I lost concentration, the dust pain pierced into my palm.
“oooouchhh!!!!! I screamed,it really hurts.
“getting into trouble, is that all you know” I heard his voice….
I turned hastily,he was nowhere.
