Landon felt satisfied with what Ruby and the designers did to the restaurant they were able to rest for the proposal. He stood at the door and took a long stare at the surroundings with a smile on his face.

“You seem so happy. You like it?” Ruby asked and Landon nodded looking at her as she approached him.

“I love it. I never thought I would have such satisfactory result in such an impromptu organization.” He said and Ruby chuckled.

“I made sure I went for the best of designers. They don’t have to think before picturing the place before knowing what to do and how to decorate it.” She said and Landon felt pleased.

“I appreciate your effort and dedication Ruby. You are not just a worker of mine, but also a friend I can run to in times of need.” He said facing her and her cheeks flushed lightly.

“You are pulling my legs with those words right?” She asked and he shook his head.

“I all damn serious Ruby. I know I treated you like shit and the rest, but you don’t seize to help me when the need arises. That is the trait of a good friend Ruby.” He said and she bowed her head smiling.

“I was once angry because of the way you acted to me when you first met Kimberly, but I stopped the hatred. You have so much good to use those few actions of yours against you, so I decided to forget all. Especially when Daniel came into the picture, it made it very easy to forget the heartbreak” She said and Landon laughed.

“I am sure my friend is the happiest man on Earth now. He had his eyes on you for a very long time but was so scared to talk to you. I was the one that pushed him to the wall and made him speak up. He was drowning in love already before you even noticed he liked you.” Landon said and Ruby laughed.

“He told me this too, and I made jest of him the day he confessed to me. I told him he was a coward and he was scared of me. Then he said that was part of the reason but not the main reason.” She said as they both walked away from the restaurant door to Landon’s car.

“So what was the main reason?” Landon asked.

“He said he felt and knew I had eyes on you already, and he trying to come into the picture could frustrate me and make me hate him for life. He further said I was so engrossed by your love and didn’t seem to notice someone else.” She said and Landon arches his brows.

“I don’t think that is true.” He said and she shook her head smiling.

“He was saying the truth. That was exactly how I felt for you, it even became embarrassing because it was all over me and was seen by everyone except you. You never saw that side of me.” She said and Landon sighed.

“Maybe that was when I met Kimberly?” He asked and shook her head.

“Long before that time, it was evident a year before you met Kim. But it’s so cool, not need to go over useless or unnecessary history anymore. We are both happy with who we are with and that is what matters.” She said and Landon nodded.

“Yes, it is. But I am still sorry, I can’t believe I was such a dick.” He said and Ruby laughed.

“You have been a dick from the very beginning. You started to change when you met Kim, she broke your wings and brought down your Ego. It is normal for your past life to be super strange to you.” She said and Landon chuckled.

“I think I would agree to that. Let’s get going, Kim said I should be back early. I don’t want to keep her worried.” He said and Ruby nodded hopping into his car and Landon walked to the driver’s seat and sat in it.

“You know, the first time I would ever cry was when I met Kim.” He said as he ignited the engine.

“Really? Not even when you knew you wouldn’t live long anymore cos of your kidney issue?” she asked and he nodded.

“I did cry, but it wasn’t because I was scared of death. I was scared of losing Kim. I couldn’t bear the thoughts of her not been with me or even ending up with another man at the end of the day. I was so furious with this thought, but I was helpless and couldn’t do anything and so tears began to roll down my eyes.” He said and Ruby felt so emotional hearing him speak like that.

“I bless the day you met her Landon. Thank God we didn’t help up together because you would have lost your life partner on the way. Kim is a woman I would always be jealous of, she is one of the best women I have ever encountered. From making you meek, down to risking her life to save you. I am so happy for you.” She said and Landon smiled looking at her.

“Thank you so much. I know she is the one for me and that is why I am doing all these to prove my love.” He said and Ruby nodded.

He headed to her house so he could drop her at home, and when he did he headed home feeling happy and fulfilled.

“Tomorrow is a very special day for me. I hope she says yes.” He thought it a very bright mood.

He got home and packed his car at the garage. He came down and walked to the door. He turned the knob and saw the door was locked from the inside.

He pressed the doorknob and waited for someone to open up. It was unfortunate for him that he didn’t take his key on his way out, he forgot because he was in a hurry.

The door finally opened and Landon walked in. Peter was the one behind the door.

“Thank you so much, I forgot to take my key along with me on my way out” he rapped before he looked at Peter and then noticed the look on his face.

“Are you alright?” Landon asked worriedly and Peter uttered no words apart from…

“Go and see Kimberly.” He said walking away angrily and Landon furrowed his brows in worry.

“What is going on?” He asked with fear in him. He ran up the stairs and when he opened the door to his room he met Kimberly crying on the bed.

“Kim?” he called running to her but then she stopped him by raising her hand.

“Don’t come near me. Go away!” She yelled and Landon was startled as she yelled at him.
