Vin stared at the message Octavia sent to him and smiled, it read thus:

*Flora wants you to attend her birthday party which will hold in the next three days, you are free to come with plus one*

“Plus one?” He repeated and read the message again. “Vincent,” Mrs. Kings called coming out of her room.

“Mom,” he answered and kept his phone in his pocket. “You are early,” she said and he smiled.

“I had less class today,” he replied and sat on the couch. “Why was Allison here?” He asked. “I’m not sure but I think she fought with your brother,” she replied.

“Cisco?” He exclaimed. “I’m not sure of the exact reason they fought but she was furious at your dad,” she replied.

“At dad? Why would she be mad at dad?” He wondered out loud. “I’m not sure, he must have assured her that your brother would accept her or something,” she replied.

“I just hope dad would realize his mistakes soon,” he muttered. “Let’s not talk about them, Flora’s birthday is coming up Octavia said she is throwing her a small party, are you going?” She asked.

“Yes, I would not miss my niece’s birthday for the world,” he said and his mom smiled. “Who is going to be your plus one?” Mrs. Kings inquired.

“I don’t know yet,” he replied. “I thought you had a girlfriend,” she said. “No, but there is a girl I like,” he replied.

“That is good news, when do I get to meet her?” Mrs. Kings asked excitedly. “Maybe at the party if she agreed to come,” he said.

“She will, no woman can resist my son’s charm,” she said and Vin smiled. “I wonder if your brother will come with Allison or alone,” she said.

“Me too, I’ll visit him later,” he said. “You should try to find out what’s up with him and Allison,” she suggested.

“Fine,” he groaned and brought out his phone, he smiled as he imagined walking into the mansion with Thea.

Thea smiled as he sat beside her dad, she cleared the hospital bill with the money Cisco gave her. She plans of paying her mom’s bill when next she gets her payment.

“I’m studying dad, I’m finally in college. My boss and friend have been doing helpful, I will pay your bills regularly now so you will get better. I know you will open your eyes soon,” she said and smiled shortly.

“I will become a graduate and get a good job, after that you, me, and mom will live happily together,” she said and chuckled.

“It was hard alone, I don’t want to be alone anymore I want our family to be whole,” she said and peck his hand.

She stared at the monitor that showed his vital signs and sighed sadly, she hoped he would open his eyes and maybe her mom would get better if she see him on his feet.

Her phone made a notification sound so she took it out of her bag to check who it was from, it was from Cisco.

She felt this happiness as she tapped on the message, she was excited to know what he sent.

*Where are you? I’m at home* she read with a smile.

“Don’t tell me he’s missing me,” she thought out loud and blush.

*I will be home shortly* she replied and kept her phone back in her bag, she turned to her dad.

“I’ll come to visit again, make sure you are awake when I do,” she said and peck his forehead before heading out of the room

Cisco rubbed his forehead as he felt slightly lonely without Thea, he sat on the couch and rested his back with his eyes closed.

“Welcome sir,” Fiona greeted. “Hey,” he replied. “What will you like to have got lunch?” She asked.

“I’m not hungry,” he replied. “Okay sir,” she bowed and wanted to walk away but Cisco stopped her. “Fiona,” he called and she turned to face him.

“Where is Thea?” He asked. “Ma’am Thea went out, she said she is done with her classes,” Fiona answered.

He smiled and gestured for her to leave, he rested his back on the couch again and he wished she would come back as soon as possible, the house was boring without her.

The doorbell rang and he sprang up, he almost got up to open it when it dawned on him that she would not ring the bell.

“You are driving me crazy,” he mumbled to himself and opens his eyes when he felt a presence beside him.

“Don’t tell me she is having effects on you,” Vin said and he opened his eyes, he sat up and cleared his throat. “Who are you talking about?” Cisco asked.

“Your girlfriend,” Vin replied. “I don’t have a girlfriend and no one is having effects on me,” Cisco retorted.

“She came to our house this morning, mom said she and dad argued about you,” Vin stated. “Why would they argue?” Cisco asked.

“You should ask dad or your girlfriend,” Vin replied and Cisco growled. “I mean Allison,” he corrected himself.

“I don’t care if they argue or not, let’s not talk about them it’s making my head hurt,” Cisco uttered rubbing his forehead. “What brings you here anyway?” He inquired.

“Mom wanted to know if you are coming to Flora’s birthday alone or with Allison and what transpired between you too,” Vin replied.

“Mom or you?” Cisco asked and narrowed his gaze at him. “I wanted to visit you and mon wanted to know,” Vin replied.

“I don’t want to talk about Allison and I have someone in mind,” he uttered with a smirk. “Now I know why Ally was mad, she thinks you are cheating on her,” Vin stated.

“She is free to think whatever she wants” Cisco replied nonchalantly. “Who is the new lucky girl?” Vin asked.

“I’m not sure if I have feelings for her yet but I think I am addicted to her,” Cisco replied with a blush. “Ohh! Is that a blush?! Oh my God! My brother is in love!” Vin exclaimed.

“I’m not in love! I like her, it isn’t love,” Cisco replied. “Like and love are the same,” he replied.

“Geez! It was a bad idea talking to you,” Cisco muttered and rough his hair. “Who are you going with? Is it the same girl you saved?” Cisco asked.

“Yes,” he replied proudly. “You are going to get married ahead of me,” Cisco teased.

“You meant to say I and my fiancee will attend your wedding with Allison,” Vin replied and ran out of the mansion before Cisco could catch up with him.

“Consider yourself dead if I catch you!” He growled. “See you at the party!” Vin yelled and got into his car, Cisco waved at him as he drove away.

He stood outside staring at the sky after Vin left, he thought about what Vin said and wondered if it was true.

“Were you waiting for me?” Thea asked startling him. “Don’t kill me yet!” He screamed holding his chest.

“I won’t I that,” she replied and he chuckled. “Why not?” He asked.

“Because I need you to pay my salary and tuition fee,” she replied and he frowned. “Is that all I’m useful for?” He asked.

“Won’t you fire me if you no longer have insomnia?” She asked. “That is not an answer, am I useful for money alone?” He asked moving closer to her.

“Why are you taking my words seriously? I was just kidding,” she said and he smirked. “Do you think I’ll believe that?” He asked and cage her to the wall.

“What are you doing Cisco? We are outside,” she whispered. “Would you let me do what I want if we were inside?” He asked fanning her face with his breath.

“I don’t know,” she replied and he raised her jaw making her stare into his eyes. “Your eyes…, they are beautiful,” he compliments and she felt butterflies in her tummy.

“Cisco,” she called but it came out as a whisper and she hates herself for reacting that way. “You sound like you have lost your voice,” he teased rubbing her lip.

She felt a cold shiver run through her spine as he did that, he wanted to taste her lips but he was holding himself back.

“Your lips are soft,” he whispered to her ear and she felt the urge to pull him closer and kiss him so hard.

“I..,” she was cut off by her loud ringing tone, Cisco pulled away while Thea rushes into the mansion. She didn’t stop until she got to her room, she held her heart that was racing so fast.

“What’s wrong with me?” She asked still holding her chest, she blushed as she remembered how soft his hand was on her lips.

Her phone rang again jolting her out of her thought. “Hi,” she said walking toward the bed.

“Were you ignoring my calls?” Vin asked.
