“Are you crying right now?” Mavis asked in bewilderment as she watched Victor sniff
back his tears.

“Do you hate me too?” Victor’s questions were sudden and strange, Mavis stared at him as she was short of words at the moment.

“I….” She trailed off and Victor laughed with tears streaming down his cheek.

“You don’t have to answer,” he said and left, Mavis suddenly felt bad for not giving him a straight answer.

Yeah, she wanted Victor out of her life but when she views things from his perspective he might be struggling too.

It isn’t a nice thing having a crazy sister, Mavis walked back to her room with a sad expression.

Why would Victor think she hates him? Why was crying? He looked funny while he was crying.

She chuckled and sat on her bed, ‘What if he is still the same?’ Her subconscious asked.

He was a nice innocent guy while they were together, the only thing Mavis hated was his sister.

Chloe was a witch in their relationship and Victor being the soft-minded wanted to please his loving sister, Mavis would always compete with Chloe.

“Somethings take an eternity to change,” she thought and fell on her back, staring at the ceiling her mind drifted to Thea.

She must be going through a lot, she wished she could help but she can only do little at the moment.

Victor drove hastily as his eyes were now filled with fury, he only cries when he is hurt but right now he is nasty.

And angry a no other person but his sister, she didn’t spend the night in the house and he hoped she would be home when he gets there.

Victor barged into the house and met Chloe crying on the couch, her hair was messy and it seemed like she has been crying for a while judging from her red eyes.

“Why are you crying? Did something happen? Where were you?” Victor inquired worriedly.

He bit his lips as he realized what he has done, the plan was to ignore Chloe not pity her but here he is acting like a coward.

“Cisco,” she sobbed and Victor moved closer, he is curious to know what Cisco did to his mighty sister.

“He doesn’t love me,” she blurted amidst tears, Victor rolled his eyes unknowingly to her.

Does she think Cisco will love her after these years? She must be silly, Cisco is mysterious and unpredictable she of all people should know that.

But the saying love is blind applies to her and her alone, Victor sat on a couch far from her and watched her cry her eyes out.

“So?” He asked nonchalantly and Chloe’s tears stopped, she raised her head in haste to look at him.

Did he just act like he didn’t care? Where is his caring brother? Where is he coming from? They have to return together so they will get the real him.

“Why will you cry your eyes out for the truth you are aware of?” He asked.

“What are you talking about?” She asked in a shaking voice, it must be the effect of her tears.

“You know he doesn’t love you but you were hell-bent on getting him, when will you wake up to the reality that Francisco King will be in your past as you are in his,” he uttered In rage and Chloe was stunned.

He is done overlooking her annoying behavior, he stood up and roughed his hair.

“Are you gonna keep crying over spilled milk or are you gonna move on and solve the puzzle in your life?” He asked and went to his room without waiting for a reply.

“Did Victor just walk out on me?” Chloe asked no one as her eyes widened in shock. “This city is bad luck,” she muttered and Cisco’s harsh words rang in her head.

“My heart,” she mumbled and resume crying.

Allison was sited beside the pool in an unknown building, she stared at the bluish water as she waited patiently for Mr. King.

“I thought meeting up was a joke,” Mr. Kings uttered behind her and she rolled her eyes in disgust.

“You finally showed up, I thought you were scared to meet up with me,” she replied with a fake smile.

“You don’t have to do that, I don’t want your career ruined,” he said and sat opposite her.

“Do what?” Allison frowned. “Frown, fake a smile, you are going to get mature wrinkles and that will ruin your career,” he replied.

“Why do you care?” She asked. “Ruin of career means no more money, I don’t want that,” he replied with a smirk.

“Money? Why do you want my money?” She asked. “Don’t you remember how you got here?” He asked and she glanced at him as if he was speaking Spanish.

“I see, you need your memory jogged. Well I will be kind enough to do that after you had your son I brought you to the agency and made you what you are today,” he started and his eyes moved as he spoke which seemed funny to Allison.

He frowned at her and the wrinkles on his face made him look like a hundred-year-old in a six-year-old body.

“So you wanted me to date Cisco so my money will be his?” She asked with a confused brow.

Why would he be drawn to money when his son is a billionaire? He is one greedy old man.

“Yes, I want what I worked hard for to be mine,” he replied.

“Are you sick? Did you escape a mental asylum?” She spew what came to her mind. “I am sorry, I just can’t find a reasonable explanation for your stupidity,” she blurred and his eyes widened.

“Or are you on drugs?” She asked and he banged the table making her flinch.

“Watch what you say, young lady! I still have your biggest secret!” He threatened with his finger pointed at her.

“Go ahead, don’t think I will be threatened with that, your words and threats hold no value. You are free to tell the world what my past is and I will make sure to visit you in prison because the world won’t just find out my biggest secret but yours too,” she uttered with her gaze on the pool.

“So,” she turned to look at him and found him trembling, she once threatened him with a record of him admitting that he killed the rapist.

“Do you still want to expose it? Please, do it will be fun to watch you locked up forever.”

She was pleased with his new expression, he looked like a rain-drenched puppy and she wished she could take a video.

“We will play this game by my rule,” she said and so from the juice in front of her.

“What do you want?” He found himself asking, all he wanted was more money but now he is losing both dignity and money.

“Get the fuck out of my life, I don’t want to see you anymore. And stop being an author of confusion in your son’s life, they might decide to bury you alive one day,” she said and stood up.

“Hope never to run into you again and I am grateful for what you did for me,” she put on her sunglasses and walked away.

Mr. Kings bit his lips angrily as he felt like going after Allison, he stood up and kicked the table hard enough for it to break.

He doesn’t have problems with Cisco dating he just wanted the best for him and maybe a little money.

He never liked Chloe, he has no reason but she was not the best in his view and he was right.

Three months later

Chloe sat on the couch lost in thought, a lot has happened in three months.

She stayed away from Cisco and focused on finding the person who hurt her, she has not been on good terms with Victor.

They hardly talk, she missed Cisco but little could be done. Greg helps her with the investigation when he can, they still have no lead and Greg was almost giving up.

Chloe felt the urge to sleep as she read the date they took over again, she was pregnant and she is aware of it.

She has not informed Cisco because she is scared of his reaction, she has plans of informing him once it is three months.

It is an opportunity for her to win him over, he has not gotten involved with any girl since they parted ways.

She rubbed her stomach with a smile as the idea of informing Cisco pooped into her head.

The doorbell rang and a maid rushed to get it, she bowed respectfully to Chloe before walking away.

Cisco raised his head and his expression was nothing near nice as his eyes locked with hers.

“What are you doing here?” He questioned. “We need to talk,” Chloe replied calmly.
