Klaus sighed pathetically and touched her arm. They were so cold.
“I want you to know I miss you, mother” he cooed.
“Not just me; but dad, Jericho, Ethan….We all miss you so bad and wish you can come back to us. Please….”
The Queen said nothing still as her cold eyes were just fixed into space, blinking at intervals. She was alive, yet acted like a breathing corpse.
He leaned forward and kissed the back of her palm.
“I’ll be back” he muttered, stood up and left the room.
His gaze was lowered the whole time as he walked down the quiet hallway, walking pass the armed guards that were assigned to guard her right from the far entrance. They needed enough security since she wasn’t conscious of herself anymore.
He walked for a long time before arriving at the room finally, and knocking on it.
“Come in, Klaus” Jericho answered from within and Klaus pushed the door open and went in.
Why was there no guard at his door post, by the way? He thought as he walked in.
Jericho could be seen sitting in front of his table, writing down somethings.
“Klaus” he called icily after sparing him a rare glance.
Klaus walked closer to him, morosely and took a seat across the table, in front of him.
“Good morning, Jeri” he muttered.
“I’ve told you to stop calling me that. My name is Jericho”. He corrected, his gaze and fingers still focused on the sheet he was writing on.
Klaus sighed.
“Just coming from mother’s room” he said.
“There’s been no change”.
Jericho halted for a second, then resumed writing the next.
“What could’ve possibly happened to her, Jericho?” Klaus asked.
“I mean….she has always been fine, until a couple of years ago. How could she just pass out for no reason, and by the time she was revived, she became a breathing corpse? I just don’t get it”
Jericho said nothing. Well, he had nothing to say.
“Do you think … she’s being traumatized by Uncle Lucien’s death?” Klaus leaned forward and asked in a lowered tone.
“That’s not possible, Klaus. Uncle Lucien died 7 months before mother’s condition. She was way over it already” Jericho replied, flipping onto the next page of his book.
And Klaus exhaled deeply and leaned back on his chair, giving in to what he said.
Lucien was their father’s brother, and was kind of close to their mum. He was the closest in-law she had.
“Then, what could the problem be?” Klaus thought in frustration.
They stayed quiet for sometime, Klaus trying to figure what Jericho was writing with so much enthusiasm. Probably has to do with the meeting coming up.
“Sometimes” he broke the silence, wearing a light smile on his face.
“I feel like returning to earth and having those hot ladies for myself”.
Jericho said nothing.
“Do you ever think of her? Valerie?” He suddenly asked and Jericho stopped writing immediately, looking up at him for the first time.
Klaus was stunned at the drastic capricious expression on his face. Does Valerie affect him this much?
And saying nothing, Jericho returned to writing on the sheet.

“Come on now; let’s move these aside” Tammy said with a clap of the hand, and the maids she was referring to, ran around with the trays.
The meals were ready and the maids were putting them in order so they could be taken to the meeting hall.
What was the meeting like, anyways? That required so much work? Valerie thought.
She washed the plates she was being asked to wash and by the time she was done, carried them meticulously to keep in the basket.
But, when she turned around, she was a little surprised to find Madame Nana, standing at the doorway with a young boy beside her; a young goodlooking boy that looked so much like her.
And if she wasn’t mistaken, they were both staring at her.
Okay… Why were they staring at her?
She saw the boy say something to Madame Nana who nodded in approval, their gaze still not leaving her face. They muttered more words to each other and finally left.
Okay…. What could possibly be going on? Why were they muttering and staring at her? Hopefully, she was just mistaken.
“Come on, Fiona. Come help with this” she suddenly heard her *fake* name from behind and knew it was Tammy.
She turned to her direction and noticed she was asking her to come help with a tray of meal. Hold on … would she be going to the meeting hall as well?
She sighed tiredly and walked to the tray and noticed about five other girls were ready to move with their own trays as well – including Tammy.
“Now, make sure you’re all careful, please” Tammy instructed.
“Let’s go”.
In place of Madame Nana, Tammy seemed to be the leader in the kitchen.
They all took up their trays and walked out of the room.
“How’re you coping, Fiona?” Tammy asked with a smile.
She was right beside Valerie.
“I’m… coping really good”. She replied.
They walked for a long time, headings for the meeting hall with Valerie beginning to feel tired already. She was obviously over stressing herself since she wasn’t used to it.
They finally arrived at the meeting hall where they found a very long table with chairs arranged on both sides.
A really huge man with a glittering crown could be seen at the head and Valerie didn’t need anyone to tell her it was the King.
The entire chairs on each side of the table were not occupied, but most of it were. Some men and women could be seen, seated like royalties.
They all seemed to be discussing lightly, tho, as the maids walked in, with some big books in front of them. .
“Greetings, Your Highness”. They all greeted in unison.
“Oh! Greetings, lovely one” King Madagascar replied with a wave.
And the maids started setting their trays down, carefully.
Valerie also set hers down, but just when she was about turning away, she noticed one of the maids spilled drink on a woman’s legs.
“My goodness!!” She exclaimed after a gasp, staring down at her legs.
“Are you blind?? What is wrong with you??”
“Oh! I’m so sorry, your honor; Please, forgive me. Please” the maid quickly went on her knees.
“You should be sorry for yourself, you blind owl!” The woman sprang on her feet, her pretty eyes not looking so good with anger.
“How can you be so careless?”
“Oh! Come on, Mariah” The King suddenly cut in.
“Poor lady’s sorry. Just let it slide, okay?”
The slightly chubby pretty woman glared hard at her before taking her seat.
“Thank you so so much, Your Highness; Thank you so much, My King” the maid placed her palms together and stood up, then hurried ahead of the others.
Valerie and the rest turned around afterwards and started heading for the door, Valerie being a little surprised with the show that had taken place.
“That lady’s just lucky” Tammy whispered to Valerie as they approached the door.
“The King is a very nice man”.
…
“Prince Jericho!” A voice suddenly called from behind.
“You’re finally here. Was beginning to think you wouldn’t show up”
Hold on; Jericho??
Valerie felt her heart stop beating as she stopped walking immediately. Was that…. Jericho???
With dilated eyes, she turned around to have a look….
