Jasmine’s POV
“Jasmine whatsoever is in between you and Shannon must come to an end today,i mean right now! ” My Dad came to my room, yell at me and walked out.
“Dad?! ” I ran after him.
“I’m serious and I won’t say more than that” Dad said.
What’s wrong with Daddy?

“Dad.. Dad” I followed him up the stairs.
“What’s wrong Jasmine? ” Mom asked when we got to the room.
“Mom” I called almost in tears.
“Dad doesn’t want me to date Shannon” I reported to her.
“I don’t know why” I added.
“What? It can’t be true” Mom said and faced my confused looking Dad who was pacing around the room. “Maya” She hollered.
“Laura she must do as I’ve said” My Dad said.
“Err Jasmine, leave it to me and I will get back to you.. I’m certain your dad is only joking”
I sniffed, wiped my face, turned the door knob and slammed the door as I rushed down the stairs.

“Maya I’m talking to you” Mrs Bryant confronted her husband by stopping him from wandering.
He didn’t say anything.
“Just yesterday we were very excited that Jasmine found love and a perfect boyfriend and today you are against it? Why? ”
“I’m not saying Jasmine shouldn’t date any guy, there are so many guys out there. Shannon isn’t the one for her” Mr Bryant said.
“What rubbish is coming out from your mouth Maya? Jasmine is in love with Shannon and those kids would make a perfect couple. Why do turn yourself into an obstacle between them? ”
“Laura, Shannon is Mr Dawton’s son” He said.
“Who is Dawton?”
“You don’t remember? ” He asked “He was my director,the one I killed and I regretted doing so.. He is Shannon’s father” Mr Bryant said almost in a whisper.
“Whhwhat??? ”
“That’s it” Mr Bryant said looking worried and uncomfortable.
“Maya, I told you to turn yourself in eight years ago but you refused now boomerang is taking it place.. ” Mrs Bryant said falling on the bed not knowing what to say or do.
“But Laura, I listened to you. I turned a new leaf and I never thought I would meet his son. You told me the good deed will conceal the bad one but it doesn’t look like that, it is reflecting the bad one”
“Does he know you worked with his father? Has he found out that you killed his father? ” Laura asked.
“I don’t think so but what if he knows and perhaps he’s pretending and secretly planning a payback against me by using my daughter” Mr Bryant said after so much thought.
“Oh my Jasmine” Mrs Bryant was frightened.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to do, should I send them away? ”
“What? No. Maya you killed their father and now you are thinking of driving them out of the house. No way! ”
“I’m so thankful to you..”
“What?”
“You didn’t report to the police then”
“Maybe I should have just done that. I don’t want to be a part to murder case” She said folding her hands.
“Laura, you are starting all over again”
“Well, I think it’s a bad idea if you throw out the poor children you gladly brought in yourself and about Jasmine relationship with Shannon , she has no alternative rather than to put a stop to it, it’s too dangerous ”
“Now you are reasoning along with me” Mr Bryant heaved a sigh of relief when he wasn’t completely relieved.

“Gilda why are you just telling me this? No wonder the boy insisted firmly that you killed his parents” Justin yelled at his wife.
“Why do you think I’m telling you now? I want you to find something you can do so I won’t be exposed or would you like to see your wife go to jail? ” Gilda shouted back.
“You are not even ashamed of yourself, you killed those children’s parents because of greediness and jealousy. My brother has always been there for us but you killed him.. you murderer”
“I didn’t”
“You want to deny it now right? ”
“Justin, I told you it was a mistake”
“Shut it ! you call murdering a mistake? so unheard of. In case you don’t know, Shannon would do everything to find out who killed his parents and I’m sure you know what that means” He smirked.
“C’mon Justin, you have friends that deals with cases like this. You can simply tell one of them,the one you trust the most, he would assist us and i’m quite sure there’s no way your nephew or anyone would find out that I’m the one that killed their parent” Gilda said.
