EPISODE 22
Jasmine’s POV
Shannon, Emily and I went to school together.
Little Emily could also sense that there was something between her brother and I.
I entered the class and said Hello to everyone unlike the old me who would yell first..
“Hey B’ you weren’t in school on friday” Jenny said to me.
“Yet you couldn’t even check on me throughout the weekend” I snapped.
“You know how less idle I am during the weekend..I’m sorry”
“Okay! ”
“I’m blank, what’s happening?.. you walked in with your crush.. ”
“It’s called fate” I whispered into her ears and turned to Shannon who was smiling at me as if he heard me.
I can’t stop loving him and I won’t.
“Oh my Gosh Jasmine, permit me to say I envy you…I wish I could just stop having new crushes each week” Jennie cried and I laughed.

“Hey Mara, Come sit here” I called her.
“Hi Jasmine, Hi Jennie” Mara said somehow shy.
“Henceforth, always have lunch with us” Jennie added.

“Hey you’all” A muscular voice behind us said.
It was my Shannon!
“Shannon! ” I exclaimed.
“Can I sit here too? ” He asked.
“Of course” He sat next to me and I couldn’t stop blushing and smiling.
Jennie and Mara stared at me.
It was just too obvious.
“Don’t be surprise Mara, I knew him before he came to our school” I told her.
“Really and you guys never talked? ”
“Well… B’cos of some personal reasons” I said and Shannon laughed..
I hit him with my elbow.
“Ouch! ” He complained.
“Sorry darling” I said dusting his elbow.

“Hello guys” Another muscular voice said.
Pson!
We barely talked. I had distance myself from some people and he was among.
“Hey” Jenny and I waved at him.
“Pson” Mara muttered while Shannon just said “Christopher”
“May I join you guys? ” Pson asked..
“There is still a seat here next to Mara, so why not? ” Shannon said.
He smiled and sat beside Mara.
Uhm! Who doesn’t know he likes her?
“Everyone loves the new Jasmine” Chris broke the silence.
“Everyone huh?? Point of correction, you should rather say everyone prefer the new Jasmine. I’m the only one who loves the new Jasmine” Shannon said holding my hand and placing it on the table for everyone to see.
“Whao!! ” They chorus.
“And you only loves… ” I was referring to Chris but before I could complete the sentence Jasmine and Jennie did.
“Mara!! ”
Mara awkwardly looked down while Chris didn’t find an exact spot to keep his eyes.
Then we all laughed.

“Will you come with us to Chris’s place? ” Shannon asked me when school was over.
“Uh no, I’m not really an outdoor type”
“So you are saying ‘no’?
“Something like that” “See you at home and I promise you, I’ll cook the best best dinner ever” I said.
“You’re the best sweetie! ”

I got home…Jeez! I’m gonna miss him for some hours.
I should have just followed him.
I entered into the house only to see my Mom in the sitting room.
“Mom? What are you doing here? you are supposed to be at work” I said.
“Anyways I’m home and your dad too”
“What? ”
“Jasmine I have something to talk to you about ” My mom said.
“Like right now b’cos I have to pull of my uniform, have some snacks and enough rest first”
“I have to say it now”
“Okay! Go on” I said..
“Jasmine, me too will not sit and watch you date Shannon” My mom broke out.
“Mom? What? ”
“It’s the best you can do for us or you end up dragging yourself and even all of us into danger” My mom said in a motherly voice.
“Mom,did Dad give you a potion or something? I thought you were on my side but you are not, sorry to tell both of you, it’s not possible! I love Shannon” I said almost screaming.
“I’m not supposed to tell you this but you are making me do so”
“And what is it? ”
“Shannon’s parents are dead”
“I know, he is investigating who killed his parents besides does it in anyway have to do with stopping me from dating him? ”
“Your Dad killed his father” My mom spoke lowering her voice.
“What? Mo..Mom What did you just say? You are joking right?”
“You don’t believe me? It’s the truth Jasmine. Did you say he is investigating who killed his parents? When he finds out who did it, what is he gonna do? ” My mom asked trembling… I trembled too.
“I… I don’t Know” “My Dad killed Shannon’s father? ” I asked ‘cos I couldn’t believe it.
“Do expect me to tell a lie about such? ”
I moved backward slowly and began to cry..
‘Nooo.. What if he already finds out and that’s why he’s dating me?’
“No way! Hell no!! ” I screamed and rushed to my room to have a very good cry.

Shannon’s POV
“So I can see you and Mara have something in common…” I teased Chris who had this girly hot cheeks.
“I’m a shy guy though but I’m trying my best to win her heart steadily” He said.

“Cindy” Emily ran towards the puppy which ran to her too.
She got it and carried it on her arm.
“Kuya I had a dream last night” Emily said.
“You told me you’ve never dreamt” I reminded her.
“But I dreamt last night” She said firmly.
“Tell us, what did you do dream about last night?” Chris asked.
“My best friend killed my dog and its puppy” Emily said as she frowned.
“That’s very brutal” Chris remarked.
He own a puppy.. So he already knows the feeling of losing one but me, I don’t like animals.
“You didn’t sleep well Emily, I know it would be a funny dream” I said.
“Well your best friend must be really Cruel” Chris said.
“Do you have a best friend?” I asked her.
“Yes, she’s my seatmate, how could she have killed 9 puppies?”
“Do you have a dog or so many puppies? ” I rhetorically asked her.
“No”
“Emily it’s impossible for someone of the same age with you to kill a dog, you had a weird and funny dream indeed” I said.
“It’s just a dream and it could have so many meaning. I think it means someone is trying to kill Cindy…well sometimes, we don’t need to follow it literal meaning”
“Uhm yeah yet I think it means I shouldn’t buy a dog or a puppy for Emily” I said trying to make Emily yell and she did.
“Huhh?? ”
“I’m the safe one here, no one dare tries to harm my puppy. Amma blow his/her head off.. I’m lucky Mom gat a gun” Chris boasted.
“Like Emily dreamt of, her best friend was the dog-killer. What if your favorite person killed your precious puppy? ” I teased.
“Then I just told a fat lie, I guess I can’t blow off his head”
“Why?”
“I don’t know. Although, Considering the fact that Cindy keeps my company before I met you, I’m almost addicted to her and besides Dogs have great values and benefits…they think like human and do almost the same thing we do… So I ought to do as I’ve said but I will just let go…we are talking about my favourite person, do you expect me to blow his head off? ” Chris concluded.
“Me too, I’ll forgive my best friend ” Little Emily said as if she own a puppy already.
“What of you? ” Chris asked me.
“Well I’m not a dog person. I never knew it had such great values.. And now that you’ve told me, why not? even if it’s not my favourite person all I’ve got to do is to let go” I finally said.
I learnt something new and great today.
