Rebecca raised her brows at Jose as he stared at her speechlessly like she had not just spoken to him.
“Um..y-yeah” Jose quickly jammed his parted lips and took the phone carefully with both palm. He could barely believe what was happening right now, although he knew Rebecca was doing this for the project but he hadn’t thought she’d go as far as walking to his seat and asking for his number openly after tons of embarrassment and refusal she had given him when he asked for hers. Although, she had made it clear to him that she doesn’t care about his feelings and would never reciprocate and had made the words very mean and rude publicly, he wouldn’t budge.
And now that she’s asking for his, he couldn’t help but wonder if she was considering his feelings or growing some for him, he knew the latter was practically impossible but as he typed his number and returned her phone, it felt as if she was wooing him instead and it made him flustered.
He phone suddenly began ringing and stopped almost immediately, he checked it and stared at Rebecca.
“That’s my number. Save it” she said and walked away from him.
His smile widened as she walked away. She might not like him but she’s starting to become nice to him and he couldn’t help but read more meanings into it.
“Looks like your dream is about to come true!” Luke, his friend nudged him at his arm and Jose’s smile widened.
“Looks like it” he replied, still smiling. .
He dart his gaze to his phone and saved her number, adding a heart shape after her name.
After school, Jeremy sat together with the others to begin the after school study.
“We’re working on ledger today and Brianna will be starting it for us” Alicia said with a lopsided smile.
“Um okay” Brianna gave her a knowing look and took out her workbook.
“Can you really take that topic, Brianna?” Alicia asked.
“I can try” she said.
“Trying isn’t wanted. It’s our class assignment, you can’t try. We need to Ace it, so can you or can you not?” She asked.
“Maybe you should give it to someone else then” Brianna replied.
“Is that a ‘i can’t’ response?” She asked and Brianna gave her a cold look before nodding.
“I thought so too” Alicia smirked.
Brianna face stiffened at the expression but she said nothing, not wanting to start a fight.
“So Harrison, you lead us!” She said and Harrison nodded and began the class.

Jeremy picked up the flyers, checking them sheet by sheet. It wasn’t the design he had planned to take but his choice was too expensive, he had to settle for this; it wasn’t bad either tho. He neatly piled them up and arranged them into his bag.
Getting up, he wound his jacket closer to his body and zipped it up. It had rained about two hours ago and the cozy effect of it could still be felt.
He picked up his little music box and hung it around his neck, he strapped his bag carefully across his shoulder and made his way out of the room. Getting to the brief passageway, he found the door to Kylie’s and Axel’s tutor room shut, not wanting to interrupt their session, he left without informing them.
He walked out and took some steps away from his house, finding a perfect publicity arena with people walking and going from time to time, he paused and took out the flyers and began distributing.
“Our dry-cleaning services are topnotch and affordable, we give discounts on every patronage and our charges are very moderate” Jeremy said as he gave a flyer to a lady, she smiled at him with a nod and hurried off.
“Please, drop by at our store sometime”
“Patronize us. Thank you!”
“We’ll really love to do your laundry anytime!”
“It’s truly very close from here and very affordable too, no extra charges”
“You won’t regret it, I promise!”
“Give us a try. Thank you!”
Jeremy kept saying repeatedly as he gave out the flyers.
“We give discounts and do a very satisfiable job. You should drop by sometime!”
As the evening started to draw in, Jeremy successfully gave out almost all of the flyers and he was about going across the street to distribute the rest when a truck suddenly sped past and he was quick to duck the splashes of water it threw as it ran past.
He gazed ahead and saw as the water splashed on a woman as drove off.
“Ah geez!”
She stopped with a gasp as she stared down at her soiled coat.
Jeremy quickly walked up to her.
She mumbled under her breath as she took off the soiled raincoat, grateful that it had shielded her work clothes from getting stained instead. She held it in her palm, contemplating on what to do with it at that time.
“Um excuse me ma’am,” Jeremy said. “Sorry about your coat” he said.
“Thank you” she said, wih a slight smile.
“My mom, run a dry-cleaning service and I could get the stains out for you, if you want. It wouldn’t take long to get this ready” he said and she gave him a look.
“Really?” She asked.
“Yeah. Our store is just down the street and I won’t charge-
“It’s not about the money. I’m in a haste right now so I won’t be able to wait until it’s ready. Can I come pick it up later?” She asked.
“Yeah”
“What time do you close for the day?”
“8pm at the most”
“I should be chanced before then. Can I get a card?”
“Sure!” Jeremy gave her a card.
“Okay, here,” She put the coat into the take out bag he brought out. “I’ll come pick it up before eight, that’s fine, right?”
“Totally”
“Okay. I have to go now. Thank you!”
“You’re welcome!” Jeremy said as she hurried off, walking farther away from the vehicles passage.
.
“What’s for dinner?” Harrison inquired, walking into the kitchen to meet his mom who was preparing dinner with their house help.
“Oven baked chicken, steamed rice and green salad” she replied.
“Mmh..okay. is Dad home yet?”
“Not yet. But he called, he’s on his way” she said.
“Okay”
“You might want to style your hair before he returns, it looks messy” she said. “But you’re still cute by the way” she added with a loving smile and Harrison giggled.
“I know. I slept off and-
His phone began ringing, cutting short his sentence.
“Excuse me,” he said and took it out, his brows lifted in awe when he saw the caller.
He hurriedly answered.
“Alicia?” He said.
“H-Harry-
Her voice was low and cracked and Harrison got instantly worried and frightened.
“Alicia, what’s wrong. You sound unusual, are you crying or something?”
“C-can we see? I have something to ask you” she said.
“Right now?”
“Yeah. Can’t you make it right now?”
“I will. I mean I can. Is something wrong, Alicia?” He asked.
“Y-yeah. Let’s just meet” she said and ended the call
