Jose stood fixed at his spot for the next five seconds as he felt his system suddenly start to behave strangely, it was happening right in front of him- to him yet it felt very unbelievable.
Apart from any other thing, he could only free how excited he felt. He spread his arm, ready to hug her back when she disengaged from the hug. Rebecca sighed softly when she fully regained her senses, she hadn’t regret the hug, his overconcern towards her, made her do it. She couldn’t recall when any classmate of hers or any student of the school had showed so much concern for her in that manner. Still, she felt she shouldn’t have lost control of herself that way.
“Um..I-
Jose tried apologizing after seeing the expression that swiped to her face after the hug.
Of course he knew it wasn’t deliberate. Rebecca wouldn’t hug him in her right senses, she wouldn’t even come close or be nice to him talk more of ‘hugging him’
He practically disgusts her that much, she had reminded him countless times in the past but with each reminder, get found himself wanting to go closer to her.
“It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault” she said, sniffed and wiped the tears completely from her eyes before walking out of the gym, leaving a bewildered and confused Jose.
.
Rebecca arrived in class just as soon as the teacher walked in, so she wasn’t reprimanded. She walked to her seat and settled.
“Hey?” Jeremy started a conversation. “You’re late” he added when she looked at him and said nothing.
“Yeah. I slept in” she simply replied. Noticing his intent look on her, the one he gave when he’s trying to figure something, she looked away as class commenced.
Jeremy.
“It’s five!” Jeremy moved closer to her.
“Hey! I was solving it!” Her gaze shot towards him. Jeremy chuckled at the glare she gave him.
“Oops sorry!” He said and she eyed him.
She stared at the equation she was solving, gave Jeremy an annoyed look and closed the book.
From the corner of her eyes she caught his stare on her.
“You know it’s rude to over-stare” she said.
“Sorry,” he pushed his face closer to her to avoid anyone from listening to what he wanted to say, Rebecca saw the move and pulled back ignorantly.
“What?” Her brows narrowed.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about what you told me yesterday, it was all over my mind” he whispered. “How is it possible, You’re-
He looked around as his voice started to get louder, affirmed that no one was listening on them, he pulled closer to her. “You’re JD” he completed.
“I’ll clear your doubt soon, just keep it cool” she whispered back at him but he still looked skeptical.
“When? I’m really very curious about this” he said
“Lunch break” she said.
“And move away from me or people will misunderstand” she added.
“Oh,” Jeremy said and pulled away from her.
Alicia’s fist curled to a tight ball as she watched them talk, she noticed her lively Jeremy felt around Rebecca and it angered her. She had seen him initiate the conversation. In fact right from when class started and the teacher left, she couldn’t keep her gaze off them.
She didn’t know when the closeness between them started and how it was moving so quick and knowing it was Rebecca, angered her more.
Sighing hardly, she dropped her pen with a loud stamp, stood up and walked out of the class.

Rebecca had barely reached the hallway during lunch break when she heard the intercom cackle and her name was mentioned. Her brows furrowed confusedly as she thought of what she could’ve done or why her name was mentioned. She hoped it wasn’t for anything bad. She retreated and walked to the principal’s office.
She was led in by his assistant and for the first time in a while, she stood face to face with Mr Finn.
“Good morning, sir” she greeted.
“Yes. Sit,” he said and she sat.
“I believe you don’t know why I called for you” he said.
“Yes sir” she nodded.
From his tone, she already knew she wasn’t in for any friendly news.
“Alicia was here earlier and she has requested for your transfer” he said and Rebecca’s lips parted slightly. When she said nothing, he continued.
“According to her, she has been having nightmares lately about what you did to her and it has been making her feel depressed and abnormal. She has been getting scared and intimidated lately with you around” he said. “She insisted you get transferred to another school initially but I was able to plead on your behalf, and she was sweet enough to accept despite her fear.
So instead of another school, you’ll be transferred to a different classroom” he said and Rebecca nodded slowly, lowering her gaze from him.
“Rebecca you need to understand-
“I do,” she cut him off. “Truly, I understand, sir. Thank you for your help” she said. “I’m just glad my parents don’t have to be involved” she said.
“Me too” he said. “But if it gets too serious and Alicia have a change of mind, they will have to be involved” he said and Rebecca nodded, hoping it wouldn’t.
“Your homeroom teacher will attend to you on everything you need” he said. “Go pack up and meet her after lunch break is over” he said.
“Yes sir.,” She stood up. “Thank you” she said and he nodded, Rebecca walked out.
She walked down the hallway to where her locker was located, as she stood before it, she sighed before opening it. Grabbing her bag, she began unpacking her stuffs from the locker into it.
She shut the locker and slung her bag over to her shoulder.
“Rebecca!” Jeremy rushed to her, panting. He seemed to have been running all through. “I was looking for you” he said. Rebecca faced him, he noticed her full bag behind her and his brows narrowed. “I heard your name from the intercom, is everything okay?” He asked.
“I just want to be left alone for now” she said brought her gaze down from him and began walking away.
“Please wait!” Jeremy said, going to catch up with her.
Rebecca stopped before he could reach her.
“What?” She asked, her tone hushed.
One glance at her, Jeremy could tell she wasn’t alright and something was off but he knew she wasn’t in the mood to talk about it.
“Your shoe,” he pointed to her shoes, Rebecca lowered her gaze to it and realized that her shoe lace was loosed. Before she could tie it, Jeremy had already squatted and was tieing it for her.
He stood up after tieing it.
“You could fall if-
“I’m being transferred to another class” she told him. Jeremy’s stared at her with a questioning look.
“What? Why?” He asked.
She opened her mouth to answer but she couldn’t, subconsciously her gaze moved behind him.
“You’ll know it soon. It’ll spread round, you just wait for it” she said before walking away..
Jeremy stared at her for a while, contemplating on following. She was supposed to prove to him she was JD. He had so much waited for this moment but it seems he’d have to wait a little longer more.
He had ran all the way from the cafeteria, leaving his friends behind to go find her and talk to her.
He sighed in despair.
Turning to head back to his friends, he found Alicia standing behind him and looking at him..
“Hey,” she covered the space between them and locked their arms, resting her head on his shoulder. “I feel sick, will you take me to the nurse’s office?”
For a moment, he wondered why she had to come all the way from the cafeteria to ask him for his help when Harrison had been right there with her.
He pushed the thought aside.
“Yeah, sure” he said, held her properly and began walking with her as she clung even more closely to him.
