Jaden gasped, and Kaylan also flinched when she felt someone lifting her up.
There was no way it could be Jaden; no. The hand felt so cold and hard, and evidently, it was….

Lord Xander?

He lifted her up in a bridal style and settling on, she could now see his face.

Those troublesome eyes of hers widened in shock as they stared at him.
*What’re you doing?* She wanted to ask, but restricted herself, especially without the fact that her lungs had suddenly gone cold.
But, what was he doing??? Why was he helping her up???

She never expected such from him.

Lord Xander could notice the shock on her face, but ignored it anyways as he started walking with her.

“Oh!” Jaden muttered and ran ahead of them, so she could lead the way to the room.

The few seconds walk she had in Lord Xander’s arms made Kaylan feel something different. His arms had been so comforting, cold and hard. Yes, it hardness made it comforting enough.

The pains on her leg had actually seized as the thought of Xander crowded her mind. He was holding her! Despite the usual grumpy look he had on, it didn’t change the fact he was holding her!

Urgh! That was actually her first time being held by a guy and it felt really strange and…. maybe good as well. Sent a different feeling. And at that moment, his promise of owing her a treat suddenly flashed through her head. When was he going to fulfill his promise?

Finally, they got to her room which Jaden had quickly opened the door before they’d even arrive. She stepped aside and waited for Lord Xander to place Kaylan on the bed.

As Kaylan felt herself leaving his arms to the bed,she could notice that feeling dwindling from her. Her eyes were pinned on Xander’s face who wasn’t even looking at her. And when he was done – knowing he had places her properly – he stood upright and took some steps back.

“Next time, you should be more careful” he said.
“I’ll get the Physician to come check up on you”.

Kaylan could only gulp but couldn’t even say a word as she stared into his face – cold, handsome.

Xander wondered why she was acting like abriviry; But not having any time for it, he turned around and left.

Kaylan stayed in that position, staring at him as he left until Jaden had to snap her fingers in front of her.

“Hey!” She called.
“Are you alright? Why’re you staring at him like that?”

Her brows were creased with curiousity.

“Nothing” Kaylan finally muttered and winced in pains – like she was remembering she had a problem.

“No!” Princess Sharon yelled in front of her father.

“No! He can’t say that! He can’t do it!” She covered her lips with her palms and bursted into tears, sitting on the floor.

Her father, King Ephraim shook his head and stood up.

“To be honest, Sharon, I really don’t get you” he said.
“I mean, everyone is trying so hard to stay clear from Lord Xander as much as possible, yet you’re trying so hard to go close and be his mistress. I know he’s powerful and all, but that’s all he thinks about – war. You won’t get the love and attention you need from him as the only….”

“I don’t care, Father! I don’t care!” Sharon yelled tearfully.
“I just love him and want him. Isn’t that enough reason?” She bent her head and resumed sobbing.
Her father was utterly disappointed.

“Well, you saw his reply. He said he doesn’t want you. So, stop crying and fix yourself” The King added strictly and walked away.

Sharon nearly went rolling on the floor as she watched her father leave her. He couldn’t even support her.
Oh!

She wept uncontrollably.

Lord Xander – she’s always admired him. Admired his strength and the respect he’s earned from people. Was it so hard to have him?

She shook her head miserably. No; no matter what, she wasn’t going to take No for an answer. If she can’t have him, then she was going to make sure no one else does.
