Jaden came into the room with a cup of tea. The physician Lord Xander sent left few minutes ago and the pain in Kaylan’s leg had subsided.
Jaden walked closer to her friend and found out how lost she looked.
“Kaylan? Are you alright? Is the pain still much?”
Kaylan sighed and shook her head.
“No. I’m better. I’m just thinking about what happened earlier. Come on Jaden…. aren’t you surprised?”
Jaden shrugged and dropped the cup of tea on the drawer beside Kaylan’s bed. “I am but…..he was just trying to show how sorry he was. Remember? He shot you.”
Kaylan sighed again. She couldn’t get that image off her head. It was actually the first time she would he making a physical contact with Xander. She couldn’t forget the way he held her….she felt so safe and small in his arms.
“Kaylan? You need to take that tea and sleep now. It’s late.” Jaden said and Kaylan shook her head.
“I don’t think I can sleep just yet. I feel troubled….I don’t know why.” Kaylan mumbled.
“Why? Because of him? Are you finally liking him? It’s about time.”
Kaylan rolled her eyes. “Come on. That is not what I meant. Who would like a cruel beast like Lord Xander? Look at what he’s done to my leg.” Kaylan groused.
“So tell me why you are thinking this much about him? He wouldn’t even know you are like this because of him.”
Kaylan didn’t reply. She only continued staring into space.

Xander stood in front of his window, staring into the dark.
His hands were crossed behind him as he stared intently into space.
He stopped to check what his mind was thinking and then shook his head.
He couldn’t believe his mind skipped moments ago when he mistakenly shot at Kaylan. Her cries re echoed in his head and he closed his eyes.
He hadn’t mean to hurt her but she shouldn’t have been standing there in the dark. Watching him.
He brought his hands forward and stared at them – the hands which carried a woman for the first time.
He was suddenly angry. Angry for the fact that he had to carry her all the way to her room; angry for the fact that she was meddling in his affair.
He turned abruptly from the window and walked into his study. He didn’t feel like sleeping and decided to read the scrolls he hadn’t been able to read in the day.
He sat down behind his counter and got hold of one of the brown scroll.
He opened it and into it only to realise he wasn’t in the mood to read at all.
He pushed it aside and placed his palm on his forehead, thinking.
He had everything he needed. Obviously everything. Anybody would say that about him but did he really have all it?
No.
He didn’t. Only him knew there was something missing in his life.
Something he knew he would never get.
Lord Xander stood up and taking off his outer wears, he walked into the bathroom to have a bath.

**The next morning**
“Wakey wakey!!” Jaden’s voice sang happily as she snapped the duvet from her friend’s body.
Kaylan mumbled in her sleep and turned the other way to continue her sleep only for Jaden to scream into her ears.
“Goodness, Jaden!” Kaylan groused and sat up, rubbing her eyes.
Jaden looked closely at her then stared at her bandaged leg. “How are you feeling now?”
Kaylan shrugged and stared at her leg. “I’m fine now. Why did you wake me up? I wanted to sleep some more.”
“You need to eat and take your medication. Have you forgotten what the physician said last night? You don’t have to be stubborn all the time.”
“Fine. I will eat.” Kaylan replied and flung her legs down from the bed. “I want to be served here.”
“Okay. I will ask the maid to bring it up here.” Jaden said and started walking towards the door.

Lord Xander sat on the edge of his big bed, dressing up for the day.
Axel came into the room carrying a new boots with him. He placed it gently in front of the master then stood up and bowed. “They came in this morning my Lord.”
Xander glanced briefly at the shinning dark boots and as usual, kept quiet. After locking up the solid buttons on his long coat, he turned slightly to look at Axel who was still standing, waiting for further orders.
“Check up on the princess.” He said in his usual cold voice.
“Yes my…Lord.” Axel drawled a hit, wondering why he wanted him to check up on the princess all of a sudden.
He bowed and quickly left the spacious room.
Xander reached out for his hew boots and out them on. One thing he liked doing for himself was dressing. He never liked the idea of his guards or any body dressing him up except during the time of war.
He wished Kaylan was alright already so he ciukd fulfill the promise he made to her for saving his life.
For a split second, he stopped to think about what had happened that day. How her voice had screamed, telling and pleading with them not to kill him.
He shook his head, clearing this head of any thoughts that would latter end up annoying him and continued tying his boot.
He was still putting them on when a knock came on the door, announcing breakfast. “Come in and set the table.” His cold voice hit against the door and almost immediately, the maid walked in with a big tray of dishes.
“Stand still.” Xander ordered as soon as she dropped the tray on the large table. “Take a bit of that.” He ordered again.
The maid badly wanted to stare at him as he said that but couldn’t. Why would he….?
She quickly bent and took a piece of the assorted chunks of meat. She chewed on it with her eyes staring at the floor while Xander listened to the movement of her mouth. Of course, he wasn’t looking at her.
Few minutes after nothing happened, Xander stood up and the maid moved back in pure fright.
She couldn’t believe how intimidating he could be.
“Get out.”
The maid quickly bowed and flew to the door. In a second, she left the room.
Since the incident during the fight challenge with the b*stard, he’s been so careful of whatever he was to put in mouth. He trusted no one. Not even Axel his persoj guard.
He was settling down in his chair when Axel retuned. He bowed and shook his head. “The princess is fine. I met her eating.” Axel replied.
“We are going out later today. Get the carriage ready.”
“Yes, my Lord.” Axel replied and bowed. He then turned and left the room.

Princess Sharon walked around in the room, thinking deeply. She sniffed and wiped her face. She had been crying ever since her dad left, over the thought of Xander’s rejection.
She stared angrily at the floor, scheming up new plans. Come what may, she must have the master.
“This is a fight and I will never back down. Xander is mine.” She said evilly to herself.
She laughed at the new plan in her head.
Dear Saviours….she couldn’t wait to get into action.
